Sri Venkateswara swami Kalyanotsavam is a special Seva of Lord Venkateswara swami. The Seva of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Lakshmi with Padamvathi known Kalyanotsavam is a function. There two categories in this Seva.

Kalyanotsavam at Tirumala

This Seva is carrying out to the utsava statue – Lord Sri Malayappa swami and his companions Sridevi and Bhudevi. A prophet conducts the wedding and an archaka is sacred to achieve other customs on behalf of the bridegroom. The wedding ceremony is apprehended according to Vaikhanasa Agama rituals and creates with the Panchamurthi Puja. This is pursued by narration of Vedic mantras and uttering the family lineage of the brides and bridegroom. The idols of the Lord and his brides look each other with a curtain in between them. After the priests perform suitable homas, the bridegroom and the brides are permitted to see each other at the right auspicious moment as the screen is removed. This is followed by Mangala sutra dharana, Thalambralu and then Lord and his consorts are bejeweled.

This Seva is not performed on main festivals like Srivari Brahmotsavam. Pavitrotsavam, Pushpayagam and on the days of solar and lunar eclipses. The period of the Seva is about one hour. Each ticket give the right to 2 people to be present at this arjita Seva and they are awarded one silver Pendant (2 grams), two big laddu, five small laddu, one vastra bahumanam (Cloth reward consisting of one silk Uttar yam for gents and one cotton blouse for ladies), two vada along with Lord’s akshantalu (‘sacred rice’ worn for blessing). At the end of the Seva, the ticket holders are also sent for the darshan of the main god in the sanctum sanctorum.

The practice of Kalyana utsavam is in progress from 1536 AD when Tallapakam Tirumala Ayyangar envisaged the thought of celebrating the marriage festival of Lord Malayappa swami and the ceremony was carry out over five days in the Tirumamani mandapam.

This Seva commences precisely at 11:30am and come to an end up at 1:00pm chased by darshan. More than 500 couples will take part in this Seva.
